When to report a vehicle service contract claim


Report a vehicle service contract claim once your repair facility has diagnosed the failure to your vehicle. Be sure your repair facility obtains prior authorization from the claims administrator before starting any repairs.

 

For their convenience, your repair facility can report a claim online.

 

If your vehicle experiences a mechanical breakdown or failure, pull over to the nearest safe location. Stop use of the vehicle, and contact:

 

  1. Emergency roadside assistance, if necessary, at 1-866-222-7869 
  2. The claims administrator at 1-800-531-1925 to receive claims authorization


Emergency repairs

If you have an emergency breakdown that occurs outside American Auto Shield business hours that prevents you from safely operating your vehicle and you are unable to reach us to obtain prior authorization before repairs are fully completed:

  • We will provide reimbursement for covered components without prior authorization up to $500 per occurrence. 
  • Submit a reimbursement request online within five (5) business days.
